Across every operator here, reviewers lead with the person. Chloe, Camille, Marion, Dorian, Charline, Ingrid, Sebastian, Lawrence, John and Sarah come up again and again, and a good day and a flat one are described almost entirely in those terms.
Reviewers on the two-château days say the same thing in different words: you get the impression of Chambord rather than every room. Tours that give it two hours are the ones nobody complains about, and the guided visit on site is the one people say explained it.
Twelve to thirteen hours door to door is the recurring note, with two to two and a half hours on the road each way. A hot vehicle on a summer day is the complaint that comes up most; the châteaux themselves almost never are.
On a coach the guide usually covers the history on the road and sets you loose inside. On the minivans the driver-guide normally takes you round. Two reviewers booked the second and got the first, and the difference is in each listing if you read it.
